Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our programs and policies.

What are your hours of operation?

We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. We are closed on major holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (and the day after), and Christmas Day.

Do you offer part-time enrollment?

No. We enroll children on a full-time basis only. This keeps classrooms consistent for the children and allows us to maintain stable staffing and routines.

What should my child bring each day?

This varies by age group. Generally, children need a packed lunch, a change of clothes, weather-appropriate outerwear, and any comfort items for naptime. Infants need bottles and breast milk if applicable. Diapers, wipes, and infant food are all included in tuition through 18 months; after 18 months, please send diapers or pull-ups. We provide breakfast, a morning snack, and an afternoon snack. Please label all personal items with your child's name. See your child's classroom-specific list for details.

How do you handle sick children?

Children must be fever-free (without medication) for 24 hours before returning to care. If a child becomes ill during the day, parents will be contacted for pickup. We follow Ohio Department of Health guidelines for communicable diseases and will notify parents of any exposures.

How do I communicate with my child's teachers?

We use the Procare Connect app for daily communication. You'll receive real-time updates including photos, activities, meals, naps, and diaper changes. You can also message teachers directly through the app. For urgent matters, please call the center.

What is your discipline policy?

We use positive guidance techniques including redirection, natural consequences, and teaching problem-solving skills. We do not use physical punishment or harsh language. Our goal is to help children develop self-regulation and conflict resolution skills.

Do you provide meals and snacks?

We provide breakfast, a morning snack, and an afternoon snack daily. Parents pack a lunch for their child each day. Infant food is included in tuition. We can accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions with proper documentation — please inform us of any allergies during enrollment.

How do you handle allergies?

All allergies must be documented with a physician's statement and action plan. We maintain allergy lists in each classroom and train all staff on allergy protocols. We are a nut-aware facility and take all allergies seriously.

What happens during naptime?

All children up to age 5 have a daily rest period. We provide a quiet, dim environment with individual rest mats. Children don't have to sleep but are encouraged to rest quietly. Older preschoolers may have quiet activities if they don't sleep.

Can I visit my child during the day?

Custodial parents and guardians have access to their child whenever the center is open, as required by Ohio law. For everyone's safety, all entry is through our secure entry system — please check in at the front desk when you arrive. If you would like to observe a classroom or plan a longer visit, arrange it with the office in advance so classroom routines are not disrupted.

What is your staff-to-child ratio?

As a Gold-rated Step Up To Quality center, we staff to stricter ratios than Ohio's licensing minimums: Infants (1:4), Toddlers (1:6), Older Toddlers (1:7), Preschool 3-year-olds (1:11), Preschool/Pre-K (1:13), and School-Age (1:17).

How do I pay tuition?

Tuition is due weekly in advance. We accept cash, check, credit/debit cards, and automatic bank drafts through Procare. We can also work with families receiving childcare assistance. A registration fee and one week's deposit are due upon enrollment.

What is your policy for vacation and absences?

Tuition is due regardless of absences to hold your child's spot. Families receive one week of vacation credit per year after 6 months of enrollment. Extended absences require advance notice. Please contact us to discuss special circumstances.
